Eric R. Posmantier

Eric R. Posmantier is a founding member of the firm, and an experienced family law attorney who focuses his practice on all aspects of divorce, as well as post-divorce alimony and child custody modification matters.

Mr. Posmantier began his career in 1997 with a legal research clerkship at the Department of Legal Research for the Judicial Branch, Superior Court of Connecticut. He subsequently joined the Greenwich, Connecticut, firm, Fogarty Cohen Selby & Nemiroff LLC (“FCSN”) as an associate in 1998. He became a partner at FCSN in 2007, focusing a large part of his practice on high net worth asset division and support awards, as well as on complex child custody disputes. He remained at FCSN through the end of 2012.

Mr. Posmantier has successfully argued in front of the Appellate Court of Connecticut on numerous occasions, and twice appeared before the Connecticut Supreme Court. He serves as a special master for the Connecticut Superior Court, working with attorneys and litigants to resolve high-conflict child custody disputes at the Regional Family Trial Docket in Middletown, as well as assisting parties to resolve financial disputes in the Judicial District of Stamford-Norwalk. Mr. Posmantier served as co-chair of the Family Law Section of the Fairfield County Bar Association from 2003 to 2006.

A graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and Rutgers University School of Law at Camden (where he was on the staff of the Rutgers Law Journal), Mr. Posmantier was selected as a “Rising Star” in the New England Super Lawyers publication each time he was eligible between 2009 and 2011. He is also on a select list of Connecticut divorce law attorneys age 45 & under on and has a “Superb” rating with more than thirty-five 5-out-of-5 client reviews on He was listed in the November 2015 edition of Greenwich Magazine’s 213 “Top Lawyers in Fairfield County”, as provided by Avvo.

In addition to his more than twenty-three years experience as a family law attorney, Attorney Posmantier is a graduate of the 40-Hour Mediation Certificate Program at the Quinnipiac School of Law Center on Dispute Resolution, as well as several advanced mediation trainings. He has also completed the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals Interdisciplinary Introductory Collaborative Practice Training.

Kimberly A. Stokes

Kimberly A. Stokes has been an associate attorney at the firm since July 2018. She graduated from Quinnipiac University, summa cum laude, in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Sociology with a minor study in Dispute Resolution. In 2016, she received her Juris Doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Quinnipiac University School of Law. Ms. Stokes received an Outstanding Performance in Oral Advocacy Award as well as several Distinguished Academic Achievement Awards throughout her time in law school. 
While pursuing her Juris Doctor degree, Attorney Stokes completed a concentration in Civil Advocacy and Dispute Resolution, which she completed with honors. Attorney Stokes was also a member and coach for Quinnipiac’s Society for Dispute Resolution competition team. She is also a graduate of the 40-Hour Mediation Certificate Program at the Quinnipiac School of Law Center on Dispute Resolution.
Prior to joining the firm, Attorney Stokes served as an Assistant Clerk in the Meriden Superior Court, where she assisted with managing the family docket. She was also an Associate Attorney with Nuzzo & Roberts, LLC, where she practiced insurance defense law.
